BIOSKETCH

J. Ma was born and raised in Anhui, China. In 2011, he earned a B.S. in biology from Northwest A&F University. With the interest of investigating biology systems by using chemical tools, he decided to study chemical biology in Meggers & Gong group at Xiamen University. However, the group intended to expand the research interest from chemical biology to a new field, asymmetric catalysis, and J. Ma was involved in this unexpected topic. After earning a M.S. in 2014, he moved to Meggers lab in Marburg and obtained the Ph.D. in 2018. Over the seven-year study in Meggers lab, he has developed two types of structurally unique, chiral-at-metal catalysts, which exhibit high catalytic reactivity in asymmetric catalysis. J. Ma then joined Glorius lab as a postdoctoral fellow at Muenster University where his research focused on the photosensitized dearomative cycloaddition of aromatics. In the fall of 2021, J. Ma joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an associate professor and Principal Investigator. His research interests include asymmetric catalysis and synthetic radical chemistry.

马佳佳博士出生于安徽六安，2011年本科毕业于西北农林科技大学，之后分别于厦门大学和德国马尔堡大学获得硕士 (2014年，导师：Prof. Eric Meggers与龚磊教授) 及博士学位 (2018年，导师：Prof. Eric Meggers)。2018至2021年，于德国明斯特大学开展博士后研究，合作导师为德国科学院院士 Prof. Frank Glorius。2021年12月加入上海交通大学教育部变革性分子前沿科学中心，任课题组长，长聘教轨副教授，博士生导师。研究方向为金属有机化学和不对称合成化学。以通讯作者或第一作者身份发表高水平研究论文多篇 ，包括 Science 1 篇，Nat. Catal. 1 篇，Nat. Commun. 1篇， Nat. Protoc. 1 篇，Chem 1 篇， J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2 篇， Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 4 篇。研究成果先后被 Science、 Chem、 Synfacts、 ChemistryViews、C&EN 和 EurekAlert!等刊物及科技媒体评述和报道。先后获得厦门大学优秀毕业生 (2014)、国家优秀自费留学生奖学金 (2018)、 马尔堡大学优秀博士论文奖 (2018, 全校六名) 等荣誉。入选上海市领军人才计划(海外)(2021)和国家海外高层次青年人才引进计划(2021)，并担任国家重点研发计划青年项目首席科学家(2023)。
